Workshop 202—Advanced Studio Lighting: $79

If you are ready to learn the finer points of lighting, this class is for you!

You‘ve learned good portrait lighting—but you yearn for more. Well, there is more… In addition to soft boxes and umbrellas and the standard fare, I’ll show you how to kick your photos up a notch by further exploring light modification. We’ll use honeycomb grid spots, cutters, gobos, mirrors, colored gels and more to add flair to your photography. But we won’t stop at headshots and portraits, we’ll do some full length shooting as well.

Controlling your background is a part of photography that can be tricky to master. I’ll take the guesswork out of this by demonstrating how to cut and add light for both low and high key. And why not add some color? I’ll show you some “colorful” ways to spice up your backgrounds with gels and accessories.

I’ve spent years modifying my studio. Come see how I have laid it out for maximum versatility, speed, and efficiency!

Hardware: Cameras and lenses by Nikon, lighting by Elinchrom, Speedotron, Einstein, Alien Bees, Mole Richardson, Nikon and more… Support gear by Matthews, Bogen, Avenger, and others.

Software: In all my classes you get to see my workflow and watch as images are imported, projected, and refined. I always have the latest version of Photoshop, Lightroom, The Bridge, Camera Raw and others. I’ll compare JPEG to RAW and compare their features.

I guarantee you’ll learn a lot and be ready to deliver better images to your clients!
