Join Andy's assistant, software engineer and photographer Ken Hornak, for an afternoon learning about Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 2 software.
What to bring:
-
Your camera and flash. We'll start the class with a one hour shoot around so you can capture photos to use during the class.
-
Laptop. Windows or Mac is fine as long as it can run Lightroom 2 effectively.
-
Some of your digital photo files. We'll also have sample images you can use to follow along but you're encouraged to bring your own photos as well and we'll work on turning them into great photos.
-
Lightroom 2. If you don't have your own copy, grab the trial version here.
Whether you're a novice or an intermediate user there will be something for you.
We'll cover:
-
Why use Lightroom?
-
Navigating the user interface
-
Cataloging strategies
-
Backup techniques. If you're not backing up now, you will be after taking this class.
-
Shooting tethered
-
Organizing, reviewing and editing
-
Enhancing your photos to make them look their best
-
Learn how far you can go before you need Photoshop or something like it.
-
Export for the web, slideshows, printing, clients, etc.
-
Calibrating your monitor
-
Printing. Printing in general can easily cover an entire class but we'll show you how Lightroom makes the process easier.
-
Customizing and expanding Lightroom with plugins
-
Where to go from here: books, websites, podcasts and other resources
You'll spend plenty of time with your photos so you can get comfortable and retain the information.
